Pokemon Catch Rate

I have spent all week playing Pokemon Black instead of doing work and my housemate still insists his stupid “press B then hold down the down arrow” magical catch method works, even though he has no control experiment! Laughable. 

(I might actually try out the formula they’ve got there later.)
